Product Marketing Manager
About this role:
StackState is looking for a product marketing manager to join us, preferably in Boston. You will be responsible for product marketing for our topology-powered observability solution. This is currently a remote position and will likely transition to hybrid in the future.
StackState is a company in the observability space. We are established in western Europe and seeking to build a strong market presence in the United States. You’ll be in on the ground level of an exciting time in the company’s growth trajectory.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and guiding the messaging, positioning and go-to-market strategy for StackState’s observability solution as a critical capability. You'll develop marketing collateral and sales enablement assets that will be used by StackState’s sales team and partners. As product marketing manager, you are expected to work with our cross-functional teams across product, engineering, sales, marketing, partners to drive customer communication, marketing and technical content, field enablement and thought leadership pertaining to observability. You’ll need to be able to manage projects collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while working across multiple virtual teams. You’ll need to have a unique combination of project management, product marketing skills, technical insight into areas such as application monitoring, observability, monitoring, AIOps, development, application integration, containers and a demonstrated successful record of leading product marketing initiatives in a high-tech company.
What you will do:
Create compelling product messaging that embodies key product attributes, including value proposition, positioning and differentiation.
Collaborate with demand generation and sales to identify effective ways to include product capabilities in marketing campaigns to increase awareness and pipeline.
Work with the marketing communications team to create and manage effective marketing assets and content, such as presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, data sheets and sales kits that can be used globally across traditional and digital channels.
Increase awareness and meaningful adoption of StackState’s product including hybrid, on-premise and cloud native/SaaS applications.
Manage the product launch process in collaboration with other teams: marketing, sales, product, customer success, consulting and documentation. Collaborate with the same teams to ensure that marketing plans, messaging and content align with product and go-to-market objectives.
Perform competitive analysis and create sales battle cards to aid sales in positioning StackState against competitive offerings.
Bring market intelligence and the voice of the customer to internal operations, helping StackState to apply its products and services to customer-focused stories that amplify our overall value across hybrid deployments including cloud services.
Together with the VP of product, support industry analyst engagements like briefings, inquiries, participate in market reports or vendor evaluations.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics or a related area.
4-5 years of software industry experience, preferably in an area of application development including cloud computing infrastructure, container infrastructure, application development platforms, observability, monitoring, AIOps, integration platforms and containers.
4-5 years of product marketing, solutions marketing or similar experience; solid ability to understand technologies and offerings and how to translate highly technical content into customer stories.
Knowledge of the enterprise software market, including market trends, key industry analysts and technologies.
Proven record of success in a fast-moving, technical environment.
Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong attention to detail and project management capabilities. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment.
Proactive and motivated with a challenger mindset, a solid work ethic and a bias for action.
Willingness to travel up to 20%, particularly to Hilversum, The Netherlands for ongoing meetings and collaboration with colleagues.
Experience in Software as a Service (SaaS), product-led growth and other cloud-based services markets is a plus.
